I was recently interviewed by Forbes for a piece on J.Crew’s success. What a great year it has been for the company! Michelle Obama has certainly helped their stock in the fashion world.

I’m so excited for spring. After all, it’s rained all week in San Francisco. I need something to look forward to.
And January showers do bring May flowers, right?
With all of the fun and bright colors I will be wearing, I’ll need the perfect nude pump. Here are a few that I am stalking.
Jimmy Choo ‘Private’ Cuff Patent Leather Sandal
Stuart Weitzman ‘Platswoon’ Pump
Christian Louboutin Patent New Simple Pump
Not sure where I could wear it, but I am in LOVE with it!
Which are your favorites?
Summer is around the corner and that means shopping for the perfect bathing suit. I find this to be a daunting task year after year. And it doesn’t help that the bf machine-washed and dried my favorite bathing suit. I am still trying to forgive him.
As I begin to search for a new one this summer, I came across the topless bikini.
I’ve decided I will wear it my next life. Or if my hair would lay perfectly like hers below, all the time.
We all know I am the biggest Lilly Pulitzer fan ever! I also love make-up. So what could be better than M·A·C and Lilly Pulitzer partnering up for the “In Lillyland” collaboration? (The answer is nothing.)
Ever since moving to SF, I have been getting my Lilly fix through Facebook along with making fabulous friends through the fan page. Sadly, SF is not preppy enough for Lilly to be here. This is why I was so delighted to learn that all the M·A·C stores and department stores with M·A·C counters are carrying the collaboration. What a pleasant surprise for me!
I picked up the entire collection downtown in Union Square. The sales associates told me that everything is selling out very quickly. Hurry and grab yours today!

This weekend only, Target comes to San Francisco. From Friday, December 11th to Saturday, December 13th, stop by Target’s To-Go pop-up shop in Union Square where you can purchase gifts that will be wrapped and ready to go. Holiday shopping and gift giving can not get any easier than this.
Gifts available for purchase include toys, gadgets, home decor, beauty, and fashion. The bonus? Shop designer offerings before they hit Target stores! Be the first to get your hands on gift wrap from Marcel Wanders for Target, beauty items from Sonia Kashuk and fashions from Rodarte for Target.
The shop will be located on 5th Street between Market and Mission Streets. It will be open from 10 am to 8 pm on all shopping days.
The Target To-Go pop-up shops will also be making an appearance in New York and Washington, D.C. Learn more at http://www.target.com/togo.

The November issue of Glamour Magazine rings in the holiday season with Michelle Obama on the cover. She is a stunning First Lady in Red and the first ever to appear on the cover. This cover takes my breath away! I am so happy that this is the only magazine I still have a subscription for. I can’t wait to find it in my mailbox.
Something about this cover ignites all the warm fuzzy feelings I have associated with the holidays. I just imagine the snowflakes on the cover delicately hitting my face as I frolic the streets of New York City toward the Christmas tree at Rockefellar Center. I think of all the fun parties I’ll attend dressed in my holiday best—the cute dresses, statement necklaces and shoes.
What great imagery! Not only is Michelle Obama a style icon, she also gives great advice to young women. I love the following quote from the interview with the First Lady.
“I have always tried to put my kids first, and then…put myself a really close second, as opposed to fifth or seventh. One thing that I’ve learned from male role models is that they don’t hesitate to invest in themselves.”
Her statement is so relevant to many young women I know. We are always putting our male counterparts first, taking an approach where we feel that taking care of him results in taking care of ourselves. Why oh why? I’m taking a cue from Michelle Obama and putting myself first!
(By the way, her dress is Jason Wu. Read the full article at Glamour.)
On my other blog, FASHIONAHOLICS, I wrote about the Lilly Pulitzer Juice contest earlier this summer. Click to see the post, “Win a Lilly Pulitzer Dress of Your Choice!”
When I finally found the juice carton at the local grocery store, I jumped up and down in front of all the other shoppers. Then I took pictures all summer long and submitted them.
I checked my email this morning to find the following message from a college friend.
Did you win a Lilly Pulitzer juice contest? I saw a Siv Lam come up on my news feed as a winner.
What was she talking about? Last week, in the Lilly Pulitzer Facebook page, we were told that all winners had been notified. I wasn’t contacted so I have been waiting eagerly to find out the results. Following the criteria of the contest, I was hoping to win for most creative. I didn’t take the first photo nor did I take the most photos.
But they created another category and I won for “Most Well Travelled Juice.” This was such a pleasant surprise.
I finally got an opportunity to browse the dresses on the website and I think I am going for the Sandpiper Peacock Dress. It is pictured below. What do you think of this choice?
